Every step tells a story. This September, Evergreen Care UK is launching StepTember, a community-wide walking challenge designed to raise awareness about loneliness in later life, promote active lifestyles, and unite our neighbourhoods in support of positive ageing.
With over 40,000 people aged 65+ in Bexley, and nearly 1 in 4 pensioners nationally living in or near poverty, Evergreen sees the impact of isolation daily. Many of our clients live alone or are physically limited in ways that reduce their social opportunities. Our mission is simple: keep people connected, active, and supported.
How can you help? - Walk your way: 15,000 steps, 10 laps of your garden, or a stroll with a neighbour - Encourage your church or school to take part - Ask your employer to sponsor your steps or ours
We invite everyone to get involved – from families and youth groups to retired residents and corporate partners. Our CEO, Amanda Stone, will walk across Bexley, visiting schools, churches, and shops, spreading the message: we all have a role in helping others age well.
Join us, step by step. Let’s make a lasting difference.
